Masuyo Higashide was born in Osaka, Japan. After completing her Bachelor of Arts degree (Physical Education) from Mukogawa Women’s University in Japan, she taught Physical Education in high school. She has the opportunity to work with many notable teachers and choreographers. She has performed the works of many renowned artists such as Peter Chin, D.A.Hoskins, Sharon Moore, Julia Sasso, and Darryl Tracy. She has found that even across language barriers we can communicate with each other through dance and music.
Emily Law was born in Toronto. She has worked with Kaha:wi Dance Theatre at the Banff Centre, Ontario Contact, the Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival, The Power of Place festival, a Dancemakers Centre for Creation Residency, and Living Ritual World Indigenous Dance Festival. Emily has worked with The Chimera Project for the Fringe Festival of Independent Dance Artists and Dancing on the Edge Festival (Vancouver). She has danced and choreographed with the Parahumans Dance Theatre in programmes such as Have You Seen These Dancers, RED cabaret, Dance Ontario’s Dance Weekend and at the Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival. Emily choreographed and danced for In a White Room 2005 with Event Horizon Dance. Emily is, working on a dance film with Makeshift Productions and was one of four resident artist at Sound Travels 2006
Jennifer Lécuyer was born in Bromont, Québec. She graduated from Collège Champlain St-Lambert in Creative Arts, and then got her BFA Specialization in Design for the Theatre from Concordia University. In 2003, Lécuyer went to study dance at Cégep St-Laurent for one year, and also trained on the silks with her circus coach Joanne Pelletier. While in Cégep she performed professionally with a dance collective which was collaborating with an experimental jazz orchestra. This was a very inspiring experience giving her the motivation to work with artist in various fields.
